Entropy Guides Hub for Demo & Act 1

Welcome to the Entropy guides hub. This is the starting point for every how-to on the wiki: first launch, Draenog opening hours, tactical combat, mercenary hiring, permadeath recovery, and Early Access Act 1 planning for the Gloaming Isles.

Entropy is a tactical turn-based RPG from Lovely Hellplace and DreadXP. You lead a theatre troupe turned mercenary company through a dying world, assembling up to six fighters in front and back rows while demons and warped wildlife try to end your expedition. The free demo teaches the opening rhythm; Early Access on August 18, 2026 expands into Act 1 with two towns, three dungeons, and a denser web of side challenges.

Start here

If you have not launched the game yet, read Getting Started for wishlist, demo install, and first-hour priorities. Prefer a narrative path through Draenog? Use the Demo Walkthrough. Combat feels opaque after the scripted loss? Open Combat Basics before you invest in gear. Ready to disable casters and open armor gates with precision? Dive into Limb Targeting. About a week from Early Access? Work the Wishlist & Launch Checklist.

Survival systems

Entropy is often described as “Suikoden with permadeath.” Frontliners protect the rear; limb targeting cripples casting and movement; Pierce and Blunt punch through armor; heavy skills delay your next turn. Pair that with How to Recruit Mercenaries and How to Survive Permadeath so a wipe becomes a roster rebuild instead of a rage quit.

Exploration quirks

The Soul Garden sequence forces you to gather Soul Moss from humanoid snails before spirits can be harmed. Act 1 spoilers and structure live in Gloaming Isles Act 1. Cross-link Party Formation, Weapons Tier List, and Controls while you play.

How this hub is organised

  • Onboarding and demo flow
  • Mechanic deep dives (combat, recruitment, moss)
  • Act 1 scope for Early Access

Every guide page includes FAQs and mid-article video embeds only when a real YouTube source exists. Jump to Tier List Hub, Players Hub, Tools Hub, or Updates Hub when you need rankings, roster theory, utilities, or release timing.

Search intents this hub answers

Players arrive asking how to play Entropy, how to beat early armored demons, how to find Soul Moss, how to get mercenaries after a wipe, and what Act 1 contains on August 18. Each child guide targets one of those intents with internal links so you never dead-end on a single article.

Editorial method

We rebuild pages when Steam news or major patches change hire rates, weapon tags, or Act scope. Until then, demo-verified tactics stay marked as early guidance. If two YouTube creators cover the same Draenog hour, we keep a single guide instead of duplicating embeds.

Suggested reading order for veterans of other JRPGs

Skip pure genre primers if you already understand rows. Jump to delay taxes, Pierce gates, and upkeep math, then validate with one forest loop. Come back to the hub whenever a new Act town opens and the child list grows.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

Where should absolute beginners start?

Open Getting Started, then the Demo Walkthrough, then Combat Basics. Recruit Mercenaries and Survive Permadeath become essential after the first wipe.

Is the demo the same as Early Access Act 1?

No. The demo is a streamlined opening with earlier access to stronger weapons and magic. Act 1 covers the Gloaming Isles with two towns and three dungeons. See Demo vs Early Access under Tools.

Do these guides spoil story beats?

Getting Started stays light. Demo Walkthrough and Soul Garden pages discuss early locations and puzzles without full Late Act spoiler dumps.
