Entropy Players Hub: Party & Roster

The Players hub covers everyone who stands in your formation: the protagonist, theatre companions, inn-board mercenaries, and reserve bodies waiting for the next wipe. Entropy lets you field up to six combatants across front and back rows without forcing a rigid 3×3 mirror. Formation freedom is powerful—and dangerous—because frontliners are the meat shield for everyone behind them.

Core pages

Why roster knowledge matters

Preview coverage repeatedly highlights permanent death for party members (not the protagonist). After the tutorial massacre, you refill from dialogue recruits and paid boards. Active members tax loot more than reserves, but both take a cut. That economy loop ties directly to How to Recruit Mercenaries and How to Survive Permadeath.

Synergy with tiers and tools

Compare roles in Mercenary Roles Tier List, then stress-test ideas in the Party Planner. Combat verbs—stun, pierce, blunt, delay—are defined in Combat Basics. If camera or menu inputs fight you while editing formation, open Controls.

Reading character presentation

Entropy’s portrait art sells failure: missing flesh, stained teeth, salvaged hilts. Treat injuries listed on the recruitment board as real combat modifiers, not flavor. A scarred greatsword hire may still outscale a pristine coward if their kit matches your frontline plan.

Keep this hub bookmarked during Early Access as Act 1 towns add new hire pools across the Gloaming Isles.

Company fantasy checklist

Write a one-line company doctrine—“stun first, pierce always, never field six broke.” Revisit after each town. Doctrine prevents impulse hires from rewriting your identity every inn visit.

Cast categories beyond combat

Entropy’s towns are full of tyrants, cowards, and exhausted innkeepers. Not everyone joins you, but everyone teaches the world’s fertility collapse and demonic pressure. Talk widely even when your roster is full; lore crumbs change how you value merciful or cruel dialogue options later.

Final checkpoint — Players Overview

For Players Hub (players/index.mdx / players-index): Write a one-line company doctrine and pin it above your formation screen.

Keep the experiment narrow so results stay readable. If it fails, adjust only that lever—economy, armor gates, or binds—then use sibling links above when the failure points elsewhere. This closing block is intentionally unique to Players Overview.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

How many characters can I field?

Up to six in the active party across flexible front and back row slots, with additional reserve capacity reported around sixteen board spots in previews.

Does the protagonist permanently die?

Preview reporting indicates party mercenaries can permakill while the player character continues, letting you rebuild the company.

Should I run a full six at all times?

Not always. Larger active parties shrink battle payouts. See Survive Permadeath and the Party Planner for upkeep guidance.
